AI is a musical instrument

I think AI is like a musical instrument. And anyone can sit down at a piano and make a noise at the piano. But it takes time and attention and practice to direct it into creating a symphony.

That is Jimmy Carr. It is the best analogy for AI I have heard so far.

He means it fairly literally. AI is an instrument. In the hands of somebody who knows how to play, it makes music worth listening to. In the hands of somebody who does not, it is a device that makes sounds.

I like that he chose a piano. Anyone can sit down at one. What turns the noise into a symphony is time, attention and practice.
