Websites for Hair Salons and Barbers on the South Shore

What a hair salon or barber shop's website needs on the South Shore: booking in one tap, your services and prices, and why Instagram alone falls short.

A salon's or barber's website does one thing above all: it gets someone booked. That means booking in one tap, your services and prices in plain view, and photos of real work by your team. Everything else is extra.

Most salons already show their work on Instagram. That is good. But a website does the jobs Instagram cannot.

What people search for

"Hair salon Bridgewater." "Barber near me." "Balayage Lunenburg." "Walk in haircut." New clients search Google, see the map, and pick from the listings with good reviews and a booking link.

Instagram, or a website?

Instagram is your portfolio. It shows your best cuts and colours to people who already follow you. It is hard for a stranger to find through Google, and you do not own it.

A website is where a stranger lands. It answers their questions and gets them booked. The best setup is both: Instagram for the work, a website for the booking, each linking to the other.

What your site needs

Booking, first

A "Book now" button at the top of every page. If you use a booking app like Square Appointments or Fresha, link straight to it. If you book by phone or text, make the number one tap.

Services and prices

List what you do and what it costs. Men's cut. Women's cut. Colour, from. Kids. Beard trim. "From" prices are fine for colour. Clients who see a price before they book do not get a surprise at the till.

Walk ins

Say if you take walk ins, and when. For a barber, this one line can bring in the most new customers.

Your team

A photo and a line for each person, and what they are best at. People book a person, not a business.

Photos of your work

A handful of your best cuts and colours, with your own clients' permission. Link to your Instagram for the rest.

Your policies

Cancellations, late arrivals, deposits for long appointments. Say it kindly and clearly. It saves arguments later.

What to skip

  • An Instagram feed that slows the page down.
  • Stock photos of models.
  • A price list as a picture. Type it out, so it reads on a phone and Google can read it.

Getting found

Your Google Business Profile matters most. Add your services, your hours and your booking link, and ask happy clients for reviews. Getting on Google Maps shows how.

Then link it to a site with your prices and your booking button. My South Shore offer is a site like that for $500. I build it first, and you only pay if you like it.

Questions salon owners ask about websites

Is Instagram enough for a salon? For clients who already follow you, it can be. For new clients searching Google, a website and a Google Business Profile do much more.

Should I show prices? Yes. Most clients want to know before they book, and it saves you questions in your messages.

Can my website take bookings? Yes. The simplest way is a button that opens the booking app you already use.
